Mansion block
An investigation into the cause of the fire has been launched

Four people have been rescued and about 100 residents were forced to leave their home as a block of flats in central London caught fire.

The London Fire Brigade was called to the block - Park West on Edgware Road - at about 0600 BST on Friday.

Fire crews rescued one man from a five-bedroom flat on the eighth floor where the blaze began. Two men and a woman were later rescued from the roof.

The fire has now been put out and most residents returned to their flats.

Fire crews are still at the scene making sure the area is safe and an investigation has been launched into the cause of the blaze.
