Pedestrian killed in bus accident

A man died when he was hit by a bus in central London.

The unnamed victim, who was aged 63, was knocked down in Edgware Road, near the junction with Seymour Street, on Monday night.

Emergency service crews were called but the man died at the scene. The crash involved a number 36 double-decker bus.

Transport for London said the driver would be taken off shift while routine enquiries were carried out. No-one has been arrested.

Edgware Road was closed when the accident happened at about 2140 BST and reopened at 0600 BST on Tuesday.
