Steven Bigby
The 22-year-old suffered a stab wound to the chest

An 18-year-old man has been charged with murdering Steven Bigby in London's Oxford Street, Scotland Yard has said.

Anthony Costa, from Walthamstow, east London, is accused of stabbing the 22-year-old. He will appear at Waltham Forest Magistrates' Court on Thursday.

Mr Bigby, from Hackney, east London, was killed after leaving a McDonald's restaurant on Monday afternoon.

A 19-year-old man who was also arrested in connection with the murder has been bailed pending further enquiries.

Police said Mr Bigby died from a single stab wound to the heart after two groups of people clashed in a "spontaneous incident".

A knife was recovered from the scene.

Mr Bigby was one of 10 defendants charged with the rape of a 16-year-old girl and causing grievous bodily harm, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) had earlier confirmed.
