The funeral of a Norwegian student found dead in a basement in London has been held in her home country.

Martine Vik Magnussen's body was discovered at a block of flats in Great Portland Street, central London, two days after she was reported missing.

The 23-year-old was last seen leaving Mayfair's Maddox Club on 14 March. She was found with neck injuries.

Ms Vik Magnussen's funeral was held in the Asker Church outside the Norwegian capital Oslo.

Police want to speak to fellow student Farouk Abdulhak who left for Yemen on the day Ms Vik Magnussen vanished.

Ms Vik Magnussen had been a student at Regents Business School, Regents Park, since 2007.

Last week her father, Odd Petter Magnussen, said: "The night she died she was celebrating end of term with the best results of her class."

Her body was discovered partially buried under rubble in the basement of a building where Mr Abdulhak rented a flat.

Police said Mr Abdulhak, a Yemeni national, was also seen with Ms Vik Magnussen on the day she went missing.

On the afternoon of 14 March Mr Abdulhak, 23, left the country on a flight to Cairo and from there travelled to Yemen. His current whereabouts are unknown.
