Woman, 68, found dead at her home

A murder investigation is under way after a 68-year-old woman was found dead in east London.

Police found the body of Khalifa Ali at her home in Ranelagh Road, Leytonstone, on Saturday evening. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

A post-mortem examination gave the cause of death as pressure applied to the neck.

A 71-year-old man, who was known to the victim, has been arrested and is being held at an east London police station.
