Hunt continues for boy's family

Gurrinder Singh said his uncle left him at a bus stop in Southall

Police officers are appealing for anyone who may have seen a nine-year-old boy found alone in London on Wednesday to come forward.

Gurrinder Singh was found in a clinic in Hartington Road, Southall, during the afternoon.

He told interpreters his uncle had left him at a bus stop and not returned.

Officers believe he was on his own for a number of hours before going to the clinic. He is being looked after by social services.

Gurrinder speaks only Punjabi but told police he had been in the country for up to three years.

He said he has been living with his uncle, whom he described as white, in a three bedroomed-house.

He also told police he was brought to Southall on a 'bendy-bus' which officers believe to be the route 207, Shepherds Bush to Hayes by-pass.

Police are specifically appealing for his uncle to come forward. He is in his 30s and about 5 ft 8in.
