A nine-year-old boy has been found wandering the streets of west London, police said.

Officers are looking for the family of Gurrinder Singh who was found near a clinic on Hartington Road, Southall, on Tuesday.

The boy speaks only Punjabi and told the police through an interpreter that his uncle left him at a bus stop there.

Gurrinder also said that he has been living in the UK for the past two to three years with his uncle.

He described his uncle as white, aged in his 30s, of slim build and about 5ft 8in.

Police believe Gurrinder had been in Southall for a number of hours before he was found.

He said that he reached the area on a bendy bus, which police believe was bus 207, which runs from Shepherds Bush to Hayes.

Gurrinder has been described as 5ft tall, of medium build and has a large distinctive mole on his lower left cheek.

He was found wearing a yellow jumper, blue jeans and a white long-sleeved shirt with pink vertical stripes.

He was also wearing red and beige trainers and a black hat and had a bangle on his left wrist.
