Renewed appeals for boy's killer

Police are launching a fresh appeal to find the killers of 15-year-old Adam Regis stabbed to death a year ago in an apparently motiveless attack.

The teenager was murdered in Plaistow, east London, on 17 March 2006 as he made his way home after a night out.

His killers have not been found and a £20,000 reward is on offer for information leading to their capture.

Police want to trace five people and a rare bronze Volkswagen Scirocco captured circling the area on CCTV.

Adam's mother Kristina Caesar and his uncle, the former Olympic athlete John Regis, made the renewed appeal at West Ham Football Club.

Adam was stabbed at the junction of Boundary Road and Kingsland Road.

'Horrible life'

Police said a knife with a blade of at least 20cm travelled through Adam's right arm, into his chest and nicked a blood vessel in his heart.

Afterwards two of the suspects were picked up by the driver of a relatively rare bronze mark II VW Scirocco.

Two other suspects were seen running north along the New City Road towards Barking Road. In total there were five suspects.

Ms Caesar told BBC London 94.9: "I've led a horrible life for the past year.

"It has been very hard losing Adam and knowing his killers are still out there.

"It breaks my heart that an innocent child can be killed and people who know about it say nothing."

Det Ch Insp Matthew Horne said: "We still don't know why he was murdered but we do know that he did nothing to provoke what happened to him that night and his family remain devastated by what has happened.

"We still need help to bring the killers to justice and our appeal is particularly to those who may be scared to come forward and talk to us."
