The officers were responding to reports of men seen carrying guns
Two teenagers, aged 14 and 15, have each been charged with two counts of attempted murder after a car was driven at armed police in south London.

The officers were responding to a call in Battersea, about men carrying firearms, at 0100 GMT on Friday when they were hit by a car.

One officer was dragged for five to six feet. The other went over the bonnet.

The 14-year-old has also been charged with dangerous driving. Both teenagers are due in youth court on Monday.

One officer sustained heavy bruising and cuts to his leg and arm while the other suffered impact injuries, but neither is in a life-threatening condition.

The incident took place in a car park in York Road. The youths are due to appear at Camberwell Youth Court.
