Boys held for attacking officers
Badric Court Estate
The officers were responding to reports of men seen carrying guns
Two teenagers, aged 14 and 15, have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a car was driven at armed police officers in south London.

The officers were responding to a call in Badric Court, Battersea, about men carrying firearms at 0100 GMT.

When two officers approached the pair in a car park in York Road they drove at the officers and hit them.

One officer fell under the car and was dragged for five to six feet. The other officer went over the bonnet.

One officer sustained heavy bruising and cuts to his leg and arm while the other suffered impact injuries, but neither is in a life-threatening condition.

As the car fled the scene it collided with a stationary Armed Response Vehicle in Gwynne Road as it turned around the corner, injuring three other officers who suffered impact injuries.

The vehicle has since been recovered.

The boys are in custody at separate south London police stations.

Assistant Commissioner Tarique Ghaffur, in charge of Central Operations, said: "This incident shows the danger that all our officers can face as they carry out their duties protecting Londoners."
