Woman 'stabbed by murder suspect'
Mark Dixie
Mark Dixie denies murdering Miss Bowman
A woman was stabbed and raped by the same man accused of murdering model Sally Anne Bowman, a court has heard.

Mark Dixie, 37, denies killing the 18-year-old in Croydon, south London, during a sex attack, in September 2005.

The woman told the Old Bailey she was attacked 10 years ago in Australia by a man with a stocking mask over his head who climbed through her kitchen window.

The woman, who gave evidence from behind a screen, had been flown from Thailand for the Old Bailey trial.

Jurors heard the woman, who was 19 at the time, lost consciousness when she was stabbed, and awoke to find her clothes removed and that the intruder had raped her.

The prosecution told the court that the woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was treated in hospital for eight stab wounds, including injuries to the neck and back.

The court also heard that a DNA sample from her underwear was matched last year to Mark Dixie.

During cross-examination, the woman denied being a prostitute at the time because she was short of money.

Mr Dixie, who lived in Perth, Western Australia, at the time of the attack in June 1998, has never been charged in connection with the offence.

Miss Bowman was stabbed seven times outside her house.

Mr Dixie denies murder but says he had sex with her corpse after finding her body in a pool of blood in the driveway.
