Film steers youngsters from crime
Cast members from TV show The Bill have helped launch a film designed to deter youngsters from crime.

Sgt June Ackland, alias Trudi Goodwin, was among those at Twyford Church of England High School in Acton, west London, for the screening.

The 30-minute film depicts five young people involved in crime and will be shown to 11 and 12-year-olds as part of the 'Your Life, You Choose' initiative.

A website to accompany the film was also launched on Wednesday.

As part of the anti-crime initiative students also attended workshops run by magistrates, the Metropolitan Police, victim support, youth offending service and the prison service.

The film, which uses schoolchildren as actors, was created by the local media college and by using facilities at Ealing Studios.
