Police investigating the death of a 16-year-old boy in north London have released CCTV images of two specific witnesses they want to come forward.

David Nowak died after being stabbed to death in a mass brawl in Farleigh Road, Stoke Newington, on 15 December 2007.

The couple were in nearby Somerford Grove at the time of the incident.

Fifteen people have been arrested in connection with the stabbing. All have been bailed to return to police stations this month and in February.

'Crucial information'

One of the witnesses sought is a man who police describe as wearing mid to light-coloured trousers, a short-sleeved light-coloured T-shirt, and dark footwear. The other, a woman, was wearing a waist-length top and shorts or a skirt.

DCI John Macdonald said: "I would like to appeal directly to this couple to contact my team on 020 8345 3985 as I believe they may have information crucial to my investigation.

"I can reassure them that any details they can provide will of course be dealt with in the strictest of confidence."

David is believed to have been stabbed after being involved in a dispute during a birthday party at Somerford and Shacklewell community centre in Shacklewell Road.

He was taken to the Royal London Hospital suffering from a knife wound to his liver and kidney but died early the following morning.
