Three men have appeared in court charged with the murder of former heavyweight boxer James Oyebola.

Mr Oyebola, 47, was shot in the head at Chateau 6 nightclub in Fulham, south-west London, in July in a row over smoking. He died four days later.

Three men, who were charged with the murder earlier this year, appeared at the Old Bailey.

All three men were remanded in custody and will appear in court again in March.

Dean Francis, 23, of Roehampton, Rene McKoy, 19, from Clapham, and Kanyanta Mulenga, 22, from Putney, appeared in court via videolink.

Mr Oyebola, who was born in Nigeria, won 18 of his 23 fights and was a bronze medallist at the 1986 Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh.
