A youth killed hours after celebrating the New Year in London died of a stab wound to the chest, tests have shown.

Henry Bolombi, 17, of Wyldfield Gardens, Lower Edmonton, was chased by a group of youths and stabbed to death in Edmonton, north London.

Mr Bolombi was making his way home from central London with nine friends when they became involved in a row with another group in Fore Street.

They were chased into Plevna Road where Mr Bolombi was found stabbed.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said detectives were following up several lines of inquiry.

Mr Bolombi and his friends had got into an argument with another group of youths outside a supermarket after getting off the number 279 night bus.

They were then chased along Fore Street into Plevna Road where officers found the victim at about 0630 GMT. He was pronounced dead soon after.

Det Ch Insp Nicola Wall said: "This was a particularly violent attack on a young man and I would like to take this opportunity to appeal to the local community for their help to bring the perpetrators to justice."
