Two men have been arrested on suspicion of the murder of a man who was stabbed after a row on a night bus.
Billy Ward, 21, was attacked during an argument with two men on bus route N159 as it travelled through Croydon, south London, in the early hours of Saturday.
Mr Ward, of New Addington, south London, was taken to hospital with stab wounds but died soon after.
Police said two men, one aged in his late teens and the other in his early 20s, were being questioned.
One man was detained on Saturday while officers arrested the second man on Sunday morning.
Mr Ward, a labourer who lived in King Henry Drive, was travelling home with friends after a night out.
Red hat
Police said there was an altercation which caused the bus driver to pull over and stop but it is not known whether Mr Ward was stabbed on the bus or when he had got off.
Officers were called to Gravel Hill, at the junction with Selsdon Park Road, at about 0340 GMT where they found him with stab wounds.
Mr Ward died in hospital less than an hour later.
Police said the two suspects, one of whom wore a red hat, ran off along Selsdon Park Road.
Anyone who was on the bus at about 0300 GMT has been urged to contact police.
Det Ch Insp Damian Allain said: "We would appeal to anyone who was on the night bus with Billy and his attackers to contact the incident room."
