Levi Bellfield denies murdering French student Amelie Delagrange
A friend of alleged double murderer Levi Bellfield saw him pull up at a bus stop and attack a woman before driving off laughing, a court has heard.

Sunil Gharu told the Old Bailey Mr Bellfield told him to watch, before allegedly throwing his victim to the floor near Heathrow airport.

Mr Bellfield denies attacking Irma Dragoshi in December 2003.

The 39-year-old, from west London, also denies the murders of students Amelie Delagrange and Marsha McDonnell.

Mr Gharu told the Old Bailey he and another man were in a black Volkswagen with Bellfield when they drove into Longford Park.

"He switched off the headlights, but the engine was still running," he told the court.

"He made a comment like, 'look at this' or 'watch this' or something and said to me to get into the driver's seat.

Mr Bellfield then approached a woman who was on her mobile phone, he added.

"He just jogged up to her," Mr Gharu said.

"It looked like he grabbed her. There was a bit of a struggle and he threw her to the ground then jogged off."

False imprisonment

Mr Gharu said Mr Bellfield got back to the car and drove off, "just laughing about what he'd done", he told the court.

Mr Bellfield, a former doorman and wheel clamper, denies attempting to murder Mrs Dragoshi, as well as a count of grievous bodily harm with intent.

He also denies the murders of Ms Delagrange and Ms McDonnell, the attempted murder of convent school head girl Kate Sheedy and the kidnap and false imprisonment of teenager Anna-Maria Rennie.

The attacks happened between October 2001 and August 2004.

The case continues.
