Policeman denies City bar murder

A policeman has pleaded not guilty to a charge of murdering a barrister's clerk in a bar in the City of London.

Pc Adam Lowe, 26, of Sawbridgeworth, Hertfordshire, and Ricky Maynard, 27, of Woodford Green, east London, were remanded on conditional bail.

They both denied charges of the murder and manslaughter of Lee Cook, 21, and will face trial on 12 May next year.

Mr Cook, of Harold Wood, Essex, died after an incident close to the dance floor at the Alibi Bar on 21 July 2007.
