Police expert jailed for grooming
Paul Rogers
Rogers was exposed by a journalist from the Sunday People newspaper
A police forensics expert has been jailed for 18 months for grooming a child over the internet.

Paul Rogers, 37, used a chatroom to arrange a meeting with who he thought was a 12-year-old girl, Southwark Crown Court heard.

But in fact she was an undercover journalist for the Sunday People newspaper.

Rogers, from Southampton, who worked in Haringey, north London, has since been sacked from the Metropolitan Police.

He was convicted at a hearing in September of attempting to meet a child following sexual grooming on the internet.
