Drive targets Camden drug dealers
Police officers on the beat
The extras police marks the start of a two-year clean-up campaign
A new two-year campaign to smash Camden's "aggressive drug dealing" has been announced.

As part of the drive, a team of 18 community support officers has been drafted into the area to combat cannabis dealers in Camden Town.

Ten police officers will also patrol the area, bringing the total strength up to 50 dedicated officers.

Camden Town's markets, pubs, restaurants and canals attract up to 300,000 visitors each weekend.

Councillor Ben Rawlings, from Camden Council, said: "We want to see a Camden Town which is safe for all who live, work and visit it but still keeps that special vibrancy which makes the area one of the most unique places in the world."
