A burst water main on a main road has been repaired but the road could still stay closed for up to a week.
Twenty businesses were flooded and supplies to about 700 homes in Maida Vale, west London, were cut off when the pipe burst on Friday morning.
Thames Water said the main was repaired at 0300 BST on Saturday but the road was so badly damaged it could remain closed for up to seven days.
A spokesperson said water supplies in the area had now been restored.
A Thames Water spokeswoman said the main would be replaced at a later date and that Transport for London (TfL) would be carrying out extensive tests on the road before reopening it.
"We have managed to bring in water from other parts of the network to supply the area so water supply has now been restored but we estimate that the road could be closed for up to seven days due to the extent of the damage," she said.
