The surf centre project is still in its infancy

A surfing centre is being planned as part of a £1.5bn development in east London, near to the Olympic Park site.
The main surf pool will generate clean 100m-long (33ft) waves measuring anything up to 1.8m (6ft) all year round, said designers.
If planning is granted, the Venture Xtreme complex would be one of the main attractions of the Silvertown Quays regeneration in Newham.
The centre would be built by the docks next to the upcoming Biota! aquarium.
Among the surf centre's other planned features are a 100m-wide beach, a climbing wall, an ice-climbing wall, a children's snow room and a scuba dive tank.
The project is still in its infancy but, if approved, designers hope it will open in 2010.
Silvertown Quays in the Royal Victoria Dock will consist of new homes, offices, workspace, retail, leisure and entertainment facilities.
The waterside regeneration development will include 5,000 new homes, including more than 1,300 affordable units.
