Teenager admits mother's killing

A teenager has admitted killing a mother-of-two who was found dead in her home in south-west London.

Laila Rezk, 51, was discovered lying on the hall floor of her home in Robin Hood Lane, Kingston Vale, the Old Bailey heard.

She was found by her two children in November 2006, having suffered serious head injuries.

Lloyd Edwards, 19, of Norley Vale, London, admits manslaughter but denies murder on the basis of lack of intent.

At the hearing on Friday, Edwards was remanded in custody, to face trial on 19 November on whether he intended to kill her, enabling the jury to decide if he is guilty of murder or manslaughter.

Mrs Rezk had returned from her job with an in-flight entertainment company in Covent Garden when she was attacked.

She had recently celebrated her 25th wedding anniversary.
