A 20-year-old man has been remanded in custody accused of the murder of a 16-year-old boy in south London.

Abukar Mahamud was killed by a single gunshot wound to the neck at the Stockwell Gardens Estate in Stockwell.

The teenager was pronounced dead after he was found outside Cassell House on the estate on Thursday.

David Taitt, who lives on the estate, appeared at Camberwell Green court on Saturday and was remanded to appear at the Old Bailey on 1 November.

The Met's Operation Trident team, which investigates gun crime in the black community, is heading the inquiry.
