Woman dies after car mounts kerb
A woman has died after being struck by a car that mounted the pavement following a collision with another car.

The 67-year-old victim's dog was also killed in the accident, involving a BMW car, which took place in south London on Saturday afternoon.

Paramedics resuscitated the woman at the scene of the crash on Camberwell New Road, before taking her to Kings College Hospital, where she died.

Police later arrested the BMW driver on suspicion of dangerous driving.

The 20-year-old is being held at a police station in south London, where he will be questioned.

His car was involved in a collision with a VW Sharan, seconds before it hit the woman and her dog. No-one else was injured during the accident.

A post-mortem examination is due to be carried out on the woman's body. She has not been named.
