Chelsea gold given to Mars garden
600 Days with Bradstone
The award-winning show garden includes a "rest pod" for astronauts
A garden depicting a relaxation area for an astronaut on a trip to Mars has been declared the best show garden at the Chelsea Flower Show.

The exhibit by designer Sarah Eberle, called 600 Days With Bradstone, features a hanging chair and a "rest pod" for astronauts.

Six other theme gardens won gold along with the Mars garden, which is a mix of burnt orange, copper and grey plants.

About 157,000 visitors are expected to visit the show which ends on Saturday.

Bradstone's garden aims to show the psychological effects of a long trip through space.

The depiction of an urban basement garden, titled Upstairs/Downstairs, was judged as the best chic garden.
