A woman who died when her family was struck by a bus is the mother-in-law of Norfolk South MP Richard Bacon.
Elizabeth Panton died when she was hit by a single-decker bus near a bus stop in North Worple Way, East Sheen, in south-west London, on Wednesday.
Mrs Panton, 65, was with Mr Bacon's sister-in-law Sarah Hope, 35, and her daughter Polyanna, two, who both suffered serious injuries in the crash.
The family was in London to celebrate the birth of Mr Bacon's first child.
Drivers monitored
The bus driver, aged 42, was arrested and released on bail until June.
Metroline, which operates the number 209 bus involved in the crash, said an immediate internal investigation had been launched.
A spokesman said: "The company very much regrets that the incident has resulted in a fatality and serious injury.
"Our sympathy and thoughts are extended to the family and friends."

He added that all staff were trained to a "high standard" and that drivers were regularly monitored both independently and by themselves.
Mr Bacon said his family, who had come down from Market Drayton, Shropshire, was in London celebrating the birth of his son, Rollo.
"This was supposed to be an incredibly happy day bringing our baby home," Mr Bacon told Radio Norfolk.
"Now we're trying to come to terms with all of this."
