Heliport closed in cylinder scare
Battersea Heliport was closed to flights after two chemical cylinders washed up on the river foreshore.

They fell from a barge which had been travelling on the River Thames.

Police sealed off the area on the recommendation of London Fire Brigade and experts were sent in to move the cylinders.

An earlier precautionary cordon which involved the evacuation of some local homes was lifted and the heliport reopened after 24 hours.
