Teen in court over woman's murder
Laila Rezk
Mrs Rezk was found dead by her children
A teenager has appeared in court charged with the murder of a mother-of-two in her home.

Lloyd Edwards, 18, is accused of beating Laila Rezk to death at the house in Robin Hood Lane, Kingston Vale, south-west London, in November.

The 51-year-old was found with serious head injuries by her children.

Mr Edwards, of Noiley Vale, Roehampton in south-west London, was remanded in custody by Kingston magistrates until an Old Bailey hearing on 19 March.

Mrs Rezk was attacked in the hallway of her house shortly after arriving home from her job in Covent Garden where she worked for an international in-flight entertainment company.

Originally from Egypt, Ms Rezk studied at the American University in Cairo before moving to Britain with her father.

She met her husband Maurice, who worked in banking, after arriving in the UK and had celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary last year.
