Family's grief over office murder

The family of a finance manager murdered in London office have called her death their "worst nightmare".

New Zealander Catherine Marlow, 28, died from suffocation at the Kennington premises in South Lambeth Road, on Saturday night.

Her parents, brother and sister said they were struggling to come to terms with the circumstances of her death.

"She had a real passion for travelling and she loved her life living and working in London," they said.

A 28-year-old man questioned by police over the death has been released and will not face any further action.

Ms Marlow's family, who live in New Zealand, said "The only shining light in all of this is that Catherine was doing what she loved.

"Catherine was a strong and vibrant young woman, everyone who knew her loved her and in return she was a loving and thoughtful daughter, sister, friend and workmate.

"We would like to thank the New Zealand public, our family and friends for their support.

"The British police have been fantastic in keeping us up to date with information, which we are grateful for."

Miss Marlow had been working for market research company Research Now after arriving in London in 2004.

Police are trying to trace her missing brown leather handbag.

Det Supt Simon Morgan said officers were pursuing several leads.

"I would like to assure members of the public that all efforts are being concentrated on identifying her killer," he said.
