The bodies of a 26-year-old woman and two children have been discovered in east London.
Police found the bodies at a two-storey terraced house in Nelson Street, East Ham, on Wednesday morning.
Detectives believe the children were aged between three and six and are treating the deaths as suspicious.
They were called to the house following reports the woman had not been seen for days. Officers confirmed there were no signs of forced entry.
The identities of the dead have not been released. Their relatives are being informed, police said.
Pleasant family
Chand Kaushal, a shopkeeper whose store is around the corner from the house where the woman and two children were found, said: "It is shocking.
"I do know people who live along that street but I've not seen anyone coming and going from that particular house."
Another neighbour who lived along the same street described the woman living at the house as "very pleasant but quiet".
The street has been cordoned off and only residents were being allowed to pass.
