A teenager has admitted killing promising footballer Kiyan Prince, 15, in a hearing at the Old Bailey.

The 16-year-old from north London, who cannot be named because of his age, denied murder but admitted manslaughter on Monday.

However, he will stand trial for murder on Tuesday after the prosecution refused his plea on the lesser charge.

Kiyan, who played for Queen's Park Rangers' youth team, was stabbed in his heart in Edgware, north London, in May.

Kiyan was attacked outside his school, the London Academy.
