Union delays Carnival bus strike
Notting Hill Carnival
West London's Notting Hill Carnival begins on 27 August
Bus workers have suspended a strike that was due to take place on the weekend of the Notting Hill Carnival.

Controllers and instructors working for operator First London had planned a 48-hour stoppage in a dispute over pay.

The Transport Salaried Staffs' Association (TSSA) union made the decision after talks at conciliation service Acas.

The planned strike on 27 August would have affected services in west London and Orpington in Kent.

The union has also planned two 24-hour strikes on 31 August and 7 September.
