Burst main causes chaos on roads
Burst water main in Hammersmith
King Street is expected to remain closed all night
A burst water main has caused severe flooding in west London.

Up to 30 firefighters were called to King Street in Hammersmith where flooding was so bad some parked cars were almost fully submerged.

A Thames Water spokesman said a team of engineers was at the scene all day on Wednesday working to shut off the leak.

Police had cordoned off a 200-metre area around Hammersmith Broadway and said it was hoped emergency work would be completed by Thursday morning.

The road is expected to remain closed throughout the night.
