An entire road of illegally parked cars has been cleared following complaints by residents.
Owners had been warned about potential £1,000 fines
Officers removed the abandoned vehicles, many of which were being illegally offered for sale, from Plumstead Common in south London.
As part of the clampdown 11 car were removed, nine of which were crushed.
The operation was carried out after residents complained about the area being blocked by cars which had been abandoned after they did not sell.
Pc Bill Smart said the vehicle owners had ignored the threat of potential £1,000 fines.
He said: "If the cars don't sell they're left abandoned with no tax or insurance and become a hazard to other road users.
"Residents have asked us for help in claiming back their street."
Officers also shut down an illegal vehicle repair operation which was being run from a shop car park.
