Boroughs uniting to fight crime
How crime can be cut by 20% over the next three years across all 33 London boroughs is being discussed on Monday.

The Metropolitan Police, Greater London Authority (GLA) and local councils are meeting in central London.

It is the first time a target has been set for the entire city and it is hoped it will be achieved by targeting prolific offenders and crime hot spots.

Home Office Minister Hazel Blears will speak at the meeting.

GLA Policy Director Lee Jasper and Assistant Met Commissioner Tim Godwin will also give speeches.

Each local authority will publish their plans for tackling crime and disorder.

Other areas which will be tackled are violent crime, drugs and domestic violence.
