A software malfunction was blamed for the problem

London's iconic Tower Bridge has reopened after being stuck in its upright position for 10 hours.
Police closed the crossing on Thursday afternoon after a technical problem prevented the arms from being lowered.
Traffic was diverted to Southwark and London Bridges, while pedestrians were also forced to find alternative routes.
The problem was eventually solved at 2345 BST when a software problem was corrected and traffic again allowed to cross the bridge.
Transport for London (TfL) suspended the congestion charge for motorists diverted into the road toll's zone.
