An 85-year-old man has died three weeks after he was robbed for £8 in coppers.
George Giblett was the victim of a despicable act, say police
Partially-sighted pensioner George Giblett dislocated his shoulder and cut his face when a teenager knocked him over as his bag was snatched.
Mr Giblett was taken to Kings College Hospital, but his condition deteriorated and he died on Wednesday.
Police are not treating it as murder but want to speak to witnesses of the mugging in Carisbrooke Gardens, Peckham, south London, on 7 November.
Det Insp Jackie Wakeford-Smith said: "This robbery and assault was a despicable act by a man who was obviously preying on a vulnerable person.
"As well as being elderly, Mr Giblett was partially sighted and very hard of hearing."
She said she wanted to speak to anyone who saw anything suspicious between 0930 and 1000 GMT on 7 November.
