Police warn of convict at large
Aaron Newland wanted by police
Newland is thought to be in south-west London
Police are warning the public not to approach a young man whom they believe to be dangerous.

Aaron Newland, 19, went on the run in September, after he was accused of beating up a man outside a pub in Morden, south-west London, in February.

Newland, of Wimbledon, was convicted in his absence from Kingston Crown Court of wounding and given eight years in a young offenders' institution.

Newland is white, 5ft 8ins tall, and thought to be in south-west London.

His two co-defendants, Ben McCarry, 21, of Morden, and Richard Berry, 21, of Mitcham, did turn up to court and were sentenced to two years for unlawful wounding and one year for affray respectively.

Their 30-year-old victim suffered a 10-inch slash across his face and was bitten on his ear.

Police said Newland is known to visit Wimbledon, Mitcham, Sutton and Wandsworth, all in south-west London.
