Man accused of body parts murder
Rochelle Holness
Rochelle had gone to make a phone call
A 47-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a teenage girl whose dismembered body was found dumped on a housing estate.

John McGrady was charged on Friday night with killing 15-year-old Rochelle Holness. A woman arrested over her death was released without charge.

Rochelle's body was found at Milford Towers, Catford, south London, on Wednesday night.

Mr McGrady, of Milford Towers, is due at Belmarsh magistrates on Saturday.

Rochelle's remains were found by ambulance staff, who had been called to the estate on Wednesday morning to treat an injured man.

The paramedics then called police, who arrested Mr McGrady and the released woman, who is also aged 47.

Rochelle, who was from Lewisham, south London, had been reported missing on Tuesday night.

She disappeared on Sunday night when she went to call her boyfriend from a phone box on the estate.

Witness appeal

Her parents had assumed she had gone to stay with friends when she did not return from the phone box.

It was only when her boyfriend called them on Monday, to say he had not heard from her that they became concerned.

Detective Superintendent Paul McAleenan appealed for anyone in the area from Sunday evening and the early hours of Wednesday to contact him.

He added: "We want to hear from anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious, either inside the estate or in the roads that lead to the estate."
