One of Hackney's most famous sons, business tycoon Sir Alan Sugar, has returned home to open a business centre for disadvantaged young people.
The incubation centre in east London helps people follow in his footsteps by setting up their own businesses.
London Youth Support Trust, which runs the project, provides subsidised workspace and advice to more than 50 businesses in deprived areas of London.
Among the businesses are designers, jewellery makers and dance teachers.
The trust established in 2001 started in Deptford where it currently supports 26 businesses.
The Hackney centre in Mare Street has been converted to house the new purpose-built incubation centre.
Sir Alan is the founder and chairman of computer firm Amstrad and he became a recognised face on BBC TV's The Apprentice.
