Man dies after ambulance attack
A man has died after being attacked by a gang while he was being treated in the back of an ambulance.

The victim had been injured during a fight involving about 20 youths armed with baseball bats and a knife in Bounds Green Road, north London.

He suffered a head injury and was in the back of the ambulance when several youths climbed in and assaulted him on Tuesday evening.

Three men were arrested and are being questioned by officers.

Gang attack

Scotland Yard said the victim had been attacked by the gang at a bus stop near Bounds Green tube station.

The man then approached an ambulance crew which had been called out to an unrelated incident nearby.

While being treated a number of the group of youths got into the back of ambulance and attacked the man.

The victim, believed to be aged 26, was taken to hospital, where police said he died at 2230 GMT on Wednesday.

Scotland Yard said it is appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened at about 2100 GMT.
