Drivers protest over conditions
Delays are expected on parts of London Underground after drivers started a work to rule in a row over "appalling" facilities at one of their depots.

Members of the Aslef and Rail Maritime and Transport unions who drive District Line trains are refusing to book on at Earls Court on Tuesday.

Drivers are instead using Acton Town in a dispute over inadequate facilities for staff at Earls Court.

An Aslef spokesman said the move was expected to cause some delays.

We understand that staff have concerns...but taking action in this way will not resolve the issue
Bob Thorogood, District Line manager

He said between 40 and 50 members were involved in the row amid claims that staff had no where to leave their belongings and changing facilities were "appalling".

"We are expecting this move to cause accumulative delays as it could take time to resolve," he said.

Bob Thorogood, general manager of the District line, said: "We understand that staff have concerns...but taking action in this way will not resolve the issue.

"All that will be achieved is inconvenience and disruption to customers' journeys.

"We are currently working with the local trade union representatives from both RMT and Aslef.

"We will do our best to provide the best service possible on the District Line and I apologise for any inconvenience that this action will cause."
