A Hindu temple was set on fire twice in one evening in what police say was a racially motivated attack.
A man set the marquee of the Shree Swaminarayan temple in Buckingham Road, in Edgware, north London, alight on Tuesday evening.
A priest noticed the flames and put the fire out, but the suspect returned and set it alight again.
The man was aged about 25, 6ft tall and wore a black jacket. Police say his ethnicity is not clear at this stage.
London Fire Brigade said they went to the temple to assist police with their inquiries.
