Station closed for improvements
Work has begun on modernising Borough underground station.

The south-east London tube station will be closed on Saturday and Sunday, 4 and 5 December, and also next Saturday and Sunday, 11 and 12 December.

The work - undertaken by Tube Lines - includes re-tiling and re-plastering the walls and ceilings in the ticket hall and on the platforms.

Electronic notice boards, customer help points and additional CCTV cameras will also be installed.

David Millard, Northern Line Manager said: "I am sorry for any inconvenience caused to customers, but Tube Lines needs to have the station closed for these two weekends while platform resurfacing work is carried out.

"This modernisation work will bring real benefits to passengers."

Passengers are advised to use London Bridge Station during the weekends while the modernisation work is being carried out.
