'Pup' tune raising money for dogs
Dogs at Battersea
All proceeds from the single are going to the home
Battersea Dogs Home is hoping its very own 'pup' idol will push their Christmas charity single into the number one chart spot.

Rockford is a cartoon dog who once lived at Battersea and he sings the song about a visit to the home over the holidays to see his old friends.

The record, out on Monday, is up against the new Band Aid single.

As well as raising money the home says the single aims to highlight the importance of taking care of pets.

Helen Tenant, from Battersea, said: "It's important for us to use any vehicle that we can to get the message of responsible ownership out to people with dogs.

"It's really important for us to make sure that everyone is looking after their animals in the best way they can so they don't end up coming into us."

Proceeds from the single Christmas Morning: Rockford's Song, will go to Battersea Dogs Home.
