A man has been charged with the murders of two people who were killed at a New Year party with the same bullet.

Martin Harvey, 43, is accused of shooting Ashley Kenton, 22, and Wayne Mowatt, 26, at the party in Hackney, east London, in January 2002.

DJ Ashley Kenton was shot through the neck and the bullet then passed through a partition wall and killed Mr Mowatt.

Mr Harvey, of no fixed address, is due to appear at Highgate Magistrates' Court on Friday.

In June, another man, Iain Davis, from Brixton, south London, was given two life sentences at the Old Bailey, after being found guilty of the murders in May.

He was arrested on suspicion of murder last September.
