A man has appeared in court to face terrorism charges after being arrested at the Channel Tunnel.

Unemployed Andrew Rowe, 32, of Maida Vale, north-west London, faced five counts under the Terrorism Act at the Old Bailey in central London.

It is alleged he had articles which could be used in connection with terrorism.

Mr Rowe was arrested entering Dover in Kent in October 2003. He has been remanded in custody until 26 March.
