Hammer attack in Lincoln robbery attempt

A man was hit over the head with a hammer and had a liquid sprayed in his face in an attempted robbery in Lincoln.

Two men approached the 26-year-old in Whitehall Terrace at about 2200 BST on Monday.

Police said the attackers demanded money before assaulting the man and running off empty handed.

The victim was taken to hospital but later released. Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
