Man in hospital after gang attack in hospital

A man was taken to hospital after suffering severe facial injuries in an assault in Lincoln.

The 27-year-old victim, who lives locally, was attacked by three men in Hermit Street early on Saturday.

He was taken to Lincoln County Hospital and police described him as "very shaken" by the incident.

The man's jacket, containing his mobile telephone, cash and a credit card, is missing but it is not known whether this was stolen or lost in the attack.

Detectives have appealed for witnesses.
